Located in Mt Eden, Auckland, the project involved the extension and internal alteration of an existing 1900s villa within the Special Character Areas Overlay - Residential: Balmoral Tram Suburb East.

The design introduces a new kitchen, dining and family space, creating a stronger connection to the garden, while reorganising the existing interior to accommodate a new master bedroom and ensuite, bathroom and dedicated laundry.

The contemporary addition responds to the scale, proportions and character of the existing villa, with careful consideration of the site’s special character requirements and Resource Consent process.
